Young Adult Gummy SmilesThe adjacent before and after smile photos represent significant overgrowth of gingival tissues of a 20 year old female.She was very self conscious about her smile. Her tooth structures had a juvenille appearance due to the excess tissue. I.V. Sedation was provided to assure our patient the utmost in comfort during treatment. Crown lengthening and gum contouring was performed, exposing a significant additional amount of tooth structure that would create a more normal gum tissue-to-tooth relationship. 
The post operative treatment photo was taken shortly after recontouring was performed. Gum tissues are
still healing.
